If you've got a pile to clear in Colorado Springs or anywhere in the Pikes Peak region, this is what it costs. Maybe it's the couch in the living room or the old fridge in the basement. Justin Winterbower runs Junkernaut Junk Removal himself. He prices the job himself and hauls it in his Ford F-150. For the full list of jobs he handles, see every service Justin offers.

The numbers Justin states up front

Every job with Junkernaut Junk Removal starts at $225. That's the minimum. On top of it, Justin lists three add-ons: a tire is +$10 each, anything with freon is +$40 each, and a mattress or box spring is +$40 each. Those are the only dollar figures on his price card. He doesn't publish other prices, and he doesn't run discounts or coupons. It's the same for a single recliner or a full garage clean out.

The three add-ons

Tire, +$10 each. Anything with freon, +$40 each. Mattress or box spring, +$40 each. That's the whole list. The line under them on Justin's price card reads "The only add-ons Justin lists." Two old tires leaning on the fence add +$10 apiece. A fridge or freezer with freon in it adds +$40 each. A queen mattress and its box spring are +$40 each, so that's two add-ons. Everything else in a normal junk removal load rides inside the main number, and these three lines are the only things that sit on top of it.

What the number covers

Loading, hauling and disposal are all inside Justin's number. Dump fees are never billed separately, so you won't see a landfill charge show up as its own line. If a tire, anything with freon, or a mattress or box spring is part of the load, that add-on sits on top. The number is one number for the whole job, and it does not change once the truck is loaded.

How Justin sets the number

I charge by volume, the amount of space it takes up in my trailer. Normally my process is to come out and give a free onsite estimate with no obligation, just to look at the volume of stuff you have or the size of the furniture and give you an accurate quote. If you like the price, we can do it same day.

A worn-out mattress headed for mattress disposal and a basement full of boxes both get priced by space. A mattress or box spring then adds +$40 each on top. Call or text (719) 246-8422.

How to get the number right the first time

The number is only as good as what Justin hears about the job. Walk the space before you call and put the whole pile in the conversation, small stuff included. Nothing has to be dragged to the curb first, since Justin carries it out from where it sits. If you're not sure something can go, check the what goes on the truck guide before you call. Here's what to mention.

  • Everything in the pile, room by room, including the garage, basement and backyard
  • Any tires, mattresses or box springs, and how many
  • Anything with freon in it, and how many
  • Anything you think might be propane tanks, asbestos, medical or biohazard waste, or fuel, since those stay off the truck
  • Any item you're unsure about, so Justin can tell you on the call

Paying Justin

Justin takes cash, credit or debit card, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and check. Pick whichever one is easiest for you. If you want to use something specific, mention it when you call or text so he knows what to expect. The amount you pay is the price he gave you, plus any add-on for tires, freon, mattresses or box springs.

Is a small pile worth the $225 minimum?

Justin's minimum is $225. That's the floor for any job. That covers one chair by the garage door too, or a short stack of boxes in the spare room. If your pile is small, the number starts at $225. Call or text (719) 246-8422.
