Refrigerator removal in Colorado Springs
Old fridge gone from the basement or garage, stairs included, in Colorado Springs.
Justin does refrigerator removal in Colorado Springs, carrying an old fridge or freezer out of the house and hauling it away. He owns Junkernaut Junk Removal and works Colorado Springs and the rest of the Pikes Peak region, doing the lifting himself. Call or text (719) 246-8422 for a price. A fridge is a different job from a couch or a stack of boxes. It's tall and heavy, and the stairs are usually the hard part. Anything with freon is +$40 each on top of the load price.
Most calls come from homeowners who just had a new fridge delivered and need the old one gone, or who are finally clearing the second fridge or chest freezer out of the garage. Property managers call when a rental turns over and the unit's old fridge has to leave before the replacement comes in. If the washer, dryer or stove is going out too, Justin handles that as appliance removal on the same trip.
Justin is based in Colorado Springs, in El Paso County, and takes old fridge and freezer jobs in Monument, Falcon, Peyton, Fountain, Security-Widefield, Manitou Springs and Cimarron Hills too. The list of every town he drives to around the Pikes Peak region has a page for most of them. He's open 24/7 and gives a two-hour arrival window, and pickup is same day, most days.

What a fridge job usually looks like
Most of these jobs come down to one or two big metal boxes. The kitchen fridge that quit the week the new one showed up. The old beer fridge in the garage that runs loud and keeps nothing cold. A chest freezer in the basement nobody has opened in years. A mini fridge left behind in a rental.
Sometimes the fridge is the whole job. Other times it rides along with a garage or basement that's getting cleared out, and it all goes on one load at one price. The difference from most hauls is the add-on. A fridge or freezer with freon is +$40 each on top of the load price, so it helps to count them when you call. Freezers count the same as fridges here. It's also the one item where its spot in the house matters most, since a full-size fridge coming up basement stairs is real work.
Where an old fridge ends up
A fridge that still runs gets a shot at donation first. If it still looks decent, Arc, Goodwill or Habitat for Humanity may take it. If you think the fridge still has some life in it, mention that on the call. Plenty of old fridges are past that point by the time someone calls, and those go another way.
A worn-out fridge or freezer is mostly metal, and the metal goes to a Colorado Springs metal recycler. Whatever on the load is plain trash goes to East Landfill or Midway Landfill, and some loads run through the El Paso County transfer station.
How Justin gets a fridge out of the house
Nothing has to be at the curb. Justin carries the fridge out from where it sits, even from down in the basement. Stairs are part of the job, so nobody has to drag it up a flight first or wait for a neighbor to help. A garage fridge usually goes straight out the big door. A basement freezer takes the stairs, and that's fine. He loads it onto the Ford F-150 himself.
The person who quotes the fridge on the phone is Justin, and he's the one carrying it out. For a rental turnover, he sets the time with the property manager. Arrival comes inside a two-hour window, which gives the manager a real slot to tell the tenant or have the door unlocked. Since he's open 24/7, a fridge that has to be gone before a new tenant moves in can be scheduled around that.
What it costs to haul off a fridge
Every fridge job starts at the $225 minimum. Justin gives one number for the whole job, set by how much room the load takes on the truck, and that number doesn't change once it's loaded. Loading, hauling and disposal are inside it. Dump fees are never billed separately.
On top of that load price, a fridge or freezer with freon adds +$40 each. One fridge on its own still starts at $225, plus the +$40 for freon. A kitchen fridge and a garage chest freezer on the same trip means two add-ons. The Colorado Springs junk removal cost guide explains how the rest of a load gets priced when the fridge is riding with a bigger cleanup.
The quote is free. Justin takes cash, credit or debit card, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a check, which makes it easy for a manager paying on a company card. Call or text (719) 246-8422.
What stays behind when the fridge goes
Fridge jobs happen a lot in garages, and garages hold most of what Justin won't haul. Propane tanks stay behind, so the grill tank parked next to the old freezer isn't going on the truck. Fuel stays too, including the gas can by the mower. Anything else hazardous sitting by the freezer stays behind too.
The easy fix is to pull those things off to one side before he gets there. None of that changes the fridge itself, which goes on the truck as usual. Point him at the fridge, and if a chest freezer or some other junk is going with it, show him that too so the price covers the whole load. How the price works
Call or text (719) 246-8422. Justin looks at how much room it takes on the truck and gives you one number for the whole job. The number doesn't change once it's loaded. Jobs start at $225. The only add-ons: tire +$10, anything with freon +$40, mattress or box spring +$40. More on how pricing works.
