Justin clears attics in Colorado Springs and across the Pikes Peak region. Call or text (719) 246-8422 for a price. An attic is the one room you reach by a ladder. It might be a pull-down ladder in the hall ceiling, a hatch in a closet or a narrow set of stairs, and everything stored up there has to come back down the same way. That is why attics sit untouched for years. Nobody wants to pass a dozen boxes down a ladder.

What is up there is different from the rest of the house. Holiday decorations in tubs. Boxes of old clothes and school papers. A crib that nobody planned to keep, a suitcase, a lamp with no shade and a fan that quit. It all went up one trip at a time and never got sorted. A basement clean out is heavy pieces coming up a staircase. An attic is lighter stuff coming down through a small opening, and there is usually a lot of it.

Junkernaut Junk Removal is Justin's own outfit, and he works it alone. The person who prices the attic is the person who goes up and carries it out. The business has 5.0 stars across 34 Google reviews. When you call, say whether the way up is a hatch or stairs and about how many boxes are up there.

What ends up stored in an attic

Most attic piles are boxes and tubs. Christmas lights and the fake tree. Halloween bins. Photo albums, report cards and the box marked misc. Baby gear is common, a crib or a high chair, and so are old toys. Then there is the furniture that was too good to toss and too old to use, like a small dresser, a rocking chair or a headboard. Add rolled rugs, a window fan, a broken lamp and a few suitcases. Justin takes the whole mix as one load.

Getting it through the hatch

The opening decides how this job goes. Justin goes up first and looks at what is there. Then he works from the front of the attic to the back, moving the things closest to the ladder first so the path stays clear. Boxes and tubs come down by hand. Longer pieces like a headboard get turned and angled to fit the opening.

Nothing has to be brought down before he gets there, and you don't have to sort it. Tell him if the floor up there is only boards laid across the beams, so he knows how to move around.

Summer heat and timing

An attic in July can be brutal. If you want it done at a cooler time of day, say so when you call or text (719) 246-8422. He is open 24/7 and gives a two-hour arrival window, so the time is worked out with you. It can happen same day, most days.

If a property manager is setting up the job for a rental, Justin works out the time with that manager.

What an attic clean out costs

The minimum is $225. Past that, Justin gives one number for the attic, based on how much of the truck the load fills. Attic loads tend to be light but bulky, and a load of boxes and tubs can take more room than it seems. Once it is loaded, the number doesn't change. Carrying it down, hauling and disposal are all inside the price, and dump fees are never billed on their own line.

Three add-ons can apply. Each tire is +$10. Anything with freon is +$40 each. A mattress or box spring is +$40 each. Justin lists no others. See how a load gets priced by trailer space for more. Justin takes cash, a credit or debit card, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a check.

What stays up in the attic

Justin won't take propane tanks, fuel, asbestos, or medical or biohazard waste. Any other hazardous waste stays too. In an old attic, a gas can or a can of paint thinner tucked behind the rafters is the usual find. Set anything like that aside, or point it out so it stays out of the load.

This page is about what is stored in the attic. If you are asking about the insulation or anything built into the roof space, ask on the phone first. Everything else that was carried up there can come down.

Where the attic load goes

Donation comes first. Furniture, baby gear and household goods in decent shape go to Arc, Goodwill or Habitat for Humanity. Metal goes to a Colorado Springs metal recycler. Old electronics are split out as e-waste. What is left is trash, and it goes to Midway Landfill, East Landfill or the El Paso County transfer station. You don't sort any of it.

How the price works

Call or text (719) 246-8422. Justin looks at how much room it takes on the truck and gives you one number for the whole job. The number doesn't change once it's loaded. Jobs start at $225. The only add-ons: tire +$10, anything with freon +$40, mattress or box spring +$40. More on how pricing works.
